First off Jesus did not come to change the laws of the Old Testament:

Think not that I am come to destroy the law or the prophets: I am not come to destroy but to fulfill. For verily I say unto you Till heaven and earth pass one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law till all be fulfilled. Matthew 5:17:18

And if the OT was irrelevant then why do people still read it? Why are the 10 commandments so often quoted if they no longer apply? Maybe the OT should be highlighted so we know which parts to read and which parts not to :

Only the real conservative heed the verses about women not speaking in church? Is the bible the word of god or not? You cant just pick and choose what to adhere to.

And what of the hebrew men? They were not remain virgins for their future mates or sexually exclusive since they were polygamists.

I dont see how the passage about slavery can be interpreted to mean anything else.
