The likelihood of a conventional doctor sanctioning supplements is questionable. Theyre mostly loyal to the drug companies and thats where their allegiance lies. Some doctors may though.

Vitamins E and C are Over the Counter OTC supplements and you do not need to consult with a physician before taking them. No vitamins do not make you fatter. However be aware that you should not take excessive doses of any vitamin. There are some studies that taking more than 400 mg of Vitamin E per day increases your risk of death by 10 20. Google that for more information. Theres usually no need to take any vitamins at all but if you would feel better to take something may I suggest a multivitamin containing a wide variety of everything? They dont have to be expensive brandname vitamins to be any good either. Walmarts generic brand of multivitamin meets the same standards of potency and purity as the most expensive vitamin sold in a specialty vitamin store. You dont need more.

Vitamins dont make you fat. You dont need permission from a doctor but you should tell your doctor youre taking them when they or the nurse asks if youre on any medications. Vitamins OTC medications birth control pills home remedies herbal supplements they are all medications that can have side effects or interact with medications your doctor might prescribe you.

Too little Vit C will give you scurvy too much will give you diarrhea.
