How do i clean up after an alkaline battery leaks?

I opened up a remote and the battery was leaked. I threw the batteries away. How do I clean up? It was a Rayovac alkaline battery.

try something soft and air… a air can would be best… there pretty safe..

q tips that way whatever liquid you use to clean it doenst get into the electronics I use coca cola to clean the battery in my old care works like a charms.

Best not to use Q tips as the cotton will fray and get caught on the contacts. Use a small brush and ordinary rubbing alcohol or so called isopropul alcohol. Unlike coke the alcohol will not hurt the electronics and you can use it quite liberally.

I have found that a solution containing baking soda and water does the job. I would guess at a teaspoon per 200 or 300 ml or 8 ounces. With a qtip this seems to work well.
