Bad credit but I need a car?

I drive a 2000 chevy cavalier where I know I wont get much to trade in so Im putting a nice down payment onto a used or relatively new car….Im putting down 4k..
what do you think I can get with relatively lower payments?
i need a car because it got into an accident awhile back and my door on my passenger side is completely smashed on the side…as to where it doesnt open. i need a new car also because a lot of things are going wrong with it

Your car is not that old. Why are you wanting a new one?
I had a 79 Chevy Malibu that had over 100000 miles on it when I was hit by another driver. It was 13 years old at that time and if I hadnt had the accident I would have driven it until it stopped running.
Then to replace it I got a 92 Corsica that I drove until last year when I gave it to a friend and got a new 08 Chevy Malibu. The Corsica was 16 years old and had 139000 miles on it.
Why dont you baby the one you have for awhile and build up your credit rating before going looking for another one?
